Ted Cruz eviscerates Hillary Clinton for ‘nasty’ tweet taking cheap shot at U.S. and Trump over coronavirus

Ted Cruz wasn't having it!

Yesterday, we reported that failed 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton was receiving backlash for posting an offensive joke to Twitter about the U.S. and coronavirus. Now, Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is firing back at her to blast her for using coronavirus to take a cheap shot at America and at President Donald Trump.

Clinton took to Twitter on Friday to share a New York Times story that stated “the U.S. now leads the world in confirmed coronavirus cases,” conveniently ignoring the fact that the numbers out of China and Iran can neither be believed or confirmed. Clinton shared the article along with the caption, “He did promise ‘America First,” referring to a campaign slogan that Trump often used in 2016.

Senator Cruz, however, was not having any of Clinton’s nonsense.

“This kind of nasty partisanship is unhelpful. Everyone understands that you don’t like Trump, but now is the time for all of us—Dem and GOP—to come together to defeat this pandemic and restore economic growth,” he tweeted. “We should all be working for and rooting for America.”

Many other public figures took to Twitter to blast Clinton as well, including Kyle Kashuv, who survived the Parkland massacre.

“Wow. Gleefully boasting thousands dead, families broken, millions of unemployment claims, and widespread suffering just to own Drumpf. My god, this is despicable,” he tweeted. “You should be ashamed of yourself.”

Radio host Larry O’Connor also got in on the action, writing to Clinton, “And to think, people thought you were cold, cruel and only cared about your political ambitions. But here…here you show some real, genuine empathy at a time when your own state is in the grip of a deadly pandemic. Good for you.”

“This is some low bullsh*t…even for you,” added author Tim Young.

Clinton is clearly still extremely bitter about her loss to Trump in 2016, but this is low even for her. She should not be celebrating something that has brought our country to it’s knees just because it is an opportunity to make Trump look bad. In the end, Clinton has shown here that she never really loved America, and that she only cares about herself.
