Late night television host Jimmy Kimmel launched a vicious attack on First Lady Melania Trump on Tuesday night, calling her the “inventor of social distancing.”
During his “quarantine minilogue” filmed at his home on Tuesday, Kimmel went after a number of public figures and lawmakers over the coronavirus crisis. “Some of our thickest-headed politicians have been passing the time by spreading nonsense about the coronavirus,” Kimmel said.
He kicked things off with Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick, who Kimmel said had argued to Tucker Carlson the day before that “old people are willing to go to an early grave in order to help boost the stock market.”
“And that doesn’t make me noble or brave or anything like that,” Patrick said in the interview.
“No, it makes you an idiot,” Kimmel fired back. “I shouldn’t say it makes you an idiot. It reveals to us that you are an idiot.” Kimmel then shifted to President Donald Trump’s town hall event in which he expressed plans to have U.S. businesses open by Easter.
“Unfortunately, the lieutenant governor isn’t alone in this moron-athon,” Kimmel continued. “By Easter?! That’s in two and half weeks! Even Jesus is like, ‘Jesus, calm down, let’s think this through.’ We’re all going to die so the president can eat Peeps.”
Finally, Kimmel targeted Melania when he talked about reports that she had tested negative for coronavirus. “Of course she has,” he said. “She’s been six feet away from her husband since Stormy Daniels. Their marriage was the inventor of social distancing.”
That’s a pretty low blow, even for Kimmel. When Michelle Obama was first lady, anyone who so much as made a joke about her was accused of “racism” by the radical, politically-correct Left. Since Melania took the position, however, liberals have allowed any kind of classless attack on her to go unchallenged.
Despite being arguably the most attacked first lady in modern American history, Melania has always kept her head up and taken the high road, and we have no doubt that she will continue to do the same thing here. Kimmel can mock her as much as he wants, but it won’t change the fact that Melania is an incredible first lady, and the American people are lucky to have her.
