The president’s son, Donald Trump, Jr., appeared on Axios on HBO on Sunday and picked a fight with the notorious son of his father’s likely general election opponent. Don Jr. wants to debate Hunter Biden on who actually profited from their father’s tenure in office.

Jr. pulled no punches and put Biden in a lose-lose situation. If he accepts then his personal and financial complications get a lot of press. If he refuses to debate he looks like someone with something to hide. Either way Hunter Biden loses, just as Don Trump, Jr. designed it.

Said the younger Trump, “I was an international business person before my father got into politics. That’s what we did. I’m not going to say I haven’t benefited from my father’s last name, just like Hunter Biden did. That’d be foolish to say. But, I haven’t benefited from my father’s tax-payer funded office.”

He continued…

“All of the sudden, he goes over to the Ukraine and he’s making 83K a month, so the media likes to do this, sort of false equivalence. ‘You’re doing this, you’re doing that. We stopped doing any new international business deals when my father won the presidency. So, you know what would be great? I’ll let you host it.”

The president’s son concluded with, “You moderate a debate between Hunter Biden and myself. Seriously, we can go full transparency. We show everything and we can talk about all of the places where I’m supposedly grifting but Hunter Biden isn’t. I would love to do it… Hunter Biden was paid $83,000 a month by an energy company in Ukraine. He didn’t know anything about energy and didn’t speak the language. The only thing he had was a daddy who happened to be the vice president of the United States. This same guy flew to China on Air Force Two, took a meeting with the Chinese government, and came back with $1.5 billion—without ever doing business in the country previously. If I came back with $1.50, I would be in jail.”

Biden will ignore the challenge. But Trump the younger may not let him off the hook so easily. This could become a refrain and a battle cry for the GOP, especially if the GOP Senate investigation finds wrongdoing by Hunter Biden and/or calls him as a witness.

This is a story that will not go away anytime soon, much to the chagrin of Joe Biden.
