Chris Evans, best known for appearing in the “Captain America” movies, just shamelessly politicized the coronavirus and used it to attack President Donald Trump.

Evans was infuriated by Trump’s coronavirus press conference, suggesting that the president leaving Vice President Mike Pence and health officials to answer questions about the coronavirus outbreak was an example of poor leadership.

“The president just ran off stage after his rambling press conference without answering a single question,” Evans tweeted. “America wants answers. America wants leadership.”

“America doesn’t want a president who runs off stage during a crisis and lets Mike Pence do all the talking,” he added.

Evans was referring to a press conference at the White House, during which Trump tried to urge Americans to be calm. “There’s no need for anybody in the country to hoard essential food supplies,” Trump said, adding that he has met with leaders from top companies like Costco and Target, which are being cleaned out by panicked Americans trying to stock up on supplies.

“They have asked me to say, ‘Could you buy a little bit less please?’” Trump said. “I thought I would never hear that from a retailer.”

Trump then handed the floor over to Pence, who he has appointed to lead the task force that is trying to fight coronavirus. Since Pence is leading the charge against the virus, it makes perfect sense that Trump would give him time to go into more details about the government response to it, a task which the president appointed him as a responsible leader.

Do Hollywood actors think too much of themselves?

For Evans to politicize the coronavirus and use it as a weapon to go after Trump is both ridiculous and despicable. This is a time for us to put politics aside and work together on getting rid of a virus that is wreaking havoc on our entire nation. Despite this, liberals like Evans are gleefully trying to use the virus to take Trump down.

Unfortunately, Evans’ latest comments come as no surprise given what he has said about Trump and his supporters in the past. Last year, he said that he was willing to risk alienating half of his fans just to take a stand against Trump.

“You don’t want to alienate half your audience,” Evans told The Hollywood Reporter. “But I’d be disappointed in myself if I didn’t speak up. Especially for fear of some monetary repercussion or career damage — that just feels really gross to me.”

It’s sad to see that Evans is just another self-absorbed Hollywood liberal who thinks that being an actor gives him the right to lecture the rest of us about politics.
