Earlier today, we reported that former President Barack Obama had taken a subtle jab at Donald Trump on Presidents Day by trying to take credit for the economic success of the last few years. Now, President Trump has fired back to make it clear that the economy is booming right now solely because of him, and Obama had nothing to do with it.

It all started on Monday morning, when Obama took to Twitter to mark the tenth anniversary of his signing of the economic stimulus package.

“Eleven years ago today, near the bottom of the worst recession in generations, I signed the Recovery Act, paving the way for more than a decade of economic growth and the longest streak of job creation in American history,” Obama tweeted.

Trump, however, was not having any of it. He fired back in a statement to Fox News released through Trump campaign national press secretary Kayleigh McEnany.

“President Trump reversed every single failed Obama-era economic policy, and with it, reversed the floundering Obama/Biden economy,” she began. “Obama and Biden orchestrated the worst economic recovery in modern history.”

“By contrast, though, deregulating, lowering taxes, and supporting free-market policies, President Trump has created the hottest economy on record, with unemployment hitting generational lows and all-time lows for African Americans, Hispanics, the disabled, veterans and many other hard-working Americans,” McEnany added.

“Paychecks are growing at the fastest pace in a decade and twice as fast for low- and middle-income Americans,” she concluded. “It’s no wonder Democrats seek to take credit for the Trump economy after eight years of betraying blue-collar workers and inflicting pain upon the middle class as Americans everywhere suffered. But the failed days of Democrat stagnation are over, and the soaring Trump economy is here to stay.”

Though the unemployment rate did fall during Obama’s time in office, it has plummeted to a 50 year low since Trump entered the White House. Minorities have found more success in Trump’s job market than ever before, and on top of that, the stock market has soared.

It’s pathetic that Obama and his fellow Democrats are trying to take credit for the economic boom that was clearly something that Trump put into motion. Trump’s economic record proves once and for all that he’s a far better president than Obama ever was, which is effectively the left’s worst nightmare.

Obama can keep trying to take credit for Trump’s economic success, but none of us are buying it. We know that the economic boom was all part of Trump keeping his promise to make America great again, and it shows exactly why we need him in office for four more years.
