Virginia’s House of Delegates voted Tuesday to pass a bill that bans assault weapons and other firearm accessories.
The sale, transportation, transferring, manufacturing, purchasing, or possessing of an assault firearm would be prohibited according to the bill. Anyone involved in these acts would be charged with a Class 6 felony.

Sponsored by Delegate Mark Levine, a Democrat, House Bill 961 passed with a 51-48 vote on Tuesday afternoon.
The House Bill’s final version features several amendments, including the definition of an assault firearm. The final draft defines the weapon as, “A semi-automatic center-fire rifle that expels single or multiple projectiles by action of an explosion of a combustible material with a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 12 rounds.”

There Are Even More Firearm Related Products it Bans
The bill also states it will become illegal for anyone to import, sell, transfer, manufacture or purchase a silencer, which could also results in a Class 6 Felony. Trigger activators would also be such a felony.
The assault weapons bill that cleared the House Tuesday had already passed a House subcommittee last week.
