Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) just lashed out at President Donald Trump over his claims that his administration’s response to the coronavirus has been “great,” arguing that the president doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

Trump took to Twitter last night to praise the way the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Alex Azar, the Health and Human Services Secretary, have handled the virus.

“CDC and my Administration are doing a GREAT job of handling Coronavirus, including the very early closing of our borders to certain areas of the world,” Trump tweeted. “It was opposed by the Dems, ‘too soon,’ but turned out to be the correct decision.”

“No matter how well we do, however, the Democrats talking point is that we are doing badly,” Trump continued. “If the virus disappeared tomorrow, they would say we did a really poor, and even incompetent, job. Not fair, but it is what it is. So far, by the way, we have not had one death. Let’s keep it that way!”

Pelosi blasted the president for his tweets today, saying, “I don’t think the president knows what he’s talking about – once again,” according to Daily Mail.

In response to the World Health Organization declaring the coronavirus to be a global crisis, Trump requested $2.5 billion from Congress, a figure that Pelosi and her fellow Democrats think is way too small.

“[He] puts forth a proposal now that is meager, anemic, in terms of addressing [this],” Pelosi said today. “With Ebola, we did $5 billion. And now, they’re trying to take the Ebola money and spend it here.”

She went on to call Trump’s response to a potential coronavirus outbreak as “shameful.”

“What he’s doing is late, too late — anemic,” she said. “Hopefully, we can make up for the loss of time, but it’ll have to have professionals in place, the resources that are adequate — and not using scare tactics about people coming back to our country.”

Unfortunately for Pelosi, she and her fellow Democrats have lost all credibility when it comes to Trump in the eyes of the American people. Trump could have the best possible plan to combat the coronavirus, yet Pelosi would still not give him proper credit.

Nobody knows what’s to come with the coronavirus, but what is certain is that the country has been thriving under Trump for three years, during which time the president has met every challenge we’ve faced as a country head-on. We have no reason to doubt that Trump will be able to get us through this challenge, just as he has with so many others since taking office.
