A state employee of New Mexico who previously interned with Democratic Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham was just arrested for allegedly vandalizing the state’s GOP headquarters in Albuquerque.

Cameron Chase McCall was spotted on surveillance footage spray painting the words “Still Traitors” on a building last week, police said.

“The [criminal] complaint says McCall is heavily involved with the Democratic Party,” KOAT-TV reported.

McCall has been placed on leave from his job at Expo New Mexico, and a spokesman for them said that he will likely be terminated if he is proven to be the person in the video. GOP staffers said that it will cost about $4,000 to repair the vandalism, according to The Blaze.

A spokesman for Governor Grisham confirmed that McCall had once interned with her, and said that she condemned the vandalism as unacceptable behavior.

“It’s flatly unacceptable behavior,” the spokesman said in a statement. “The suspect was an intern in her Congressional office for a brief period, and that fact amplifies her already extreme disappointment in what took place. There is no space for this kind of juvenile nonsense in our politics – and it is entirely out of step with what the governor expects of employees, whether past, present or future.”

Police are now trying to figure out if McCall is the same individual who spray painted the word “traitors” on the GOP headquarters last March. It was after this vandalism that Republicans decided to install cameras at their facility.

McCall has been released on bond since he had no prior arrests.

If a Republican operative had been arrested for doing this to a Democratic headquarters, it would be a national news story picked up by the mainstream media to show how “deranged” the right is. Since it was a leftist who committed this crime, however, it’s not being reported at all on a national level.
