Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg, the former mayor of New York City, found himself being hilariously trolled this week when a man asked him to say “stop and frisk” as he snapped a selfie with him.

In a video captured by the conservative group America Rising, a man walks up to Bloomberg and asks for a selfie as the candidate campaigns in North Carolina. As Bloomberg starts to pose with him, the man says, “Hey, Mike, say stop-and-frisk,” using the typical tone of voice someone would use when saying “say cheese.”

Bloomberg doesn’t appear to realize what he’s being asked to say at first, and he does indeed seem to say “stop and frisk” before he processes the request. As Bloomberg then hurries away, someone off camera can be heard exclaiming, “racist piece of s*t.”

This comes days after a recording surfaced of a 2015 speech Bloomberg gave at the Aspen Institute in which he defended “stop and frisk,” his controversial strategy of tackling crime in minority neighborhoods.

“It’s controversial, but… 95 percent of your murders, and murderers, and murder victims fit one [description],” he can be heard saying. “You can just take the description, Xerox it, and pass it out to all of the cops. They are male, minorities, 15 to 25. That’s true in New York, it’s true in virtually every city in America.”

While campaigning in North Carolina, Bloomberg dodged questions about the recording and refused to discuss it in any way, according to CNN, which added that numerous people had told the network that they had hoped he would address it.

Given the obsession with race that the modern left has, it’s hard to imagine that Bloomberg will be able to come back from this tape. It could not be more hilarious that a troll was able to get Bloomberg to say the very phrase that may just destroy his campaign forever.
