Last night, President Donald Trump bestowed a major honor on conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh when he gave him the Medal of Freedom during his stirring State of the Union speech. Afterwards, CNN reporter Jim Acosta tried to ruin the moment for Limbaugh by accusing the 69 year-old of “racism,” but Fox News host Laura Ingraham made sure that this did not end well for him.

“He was trying to make appeals to the African American community,” Acosta said of Trump after his speech, according to The Washington Examiner. “It can’t be forgotten that he was awarding the Medal of Freedom to Rush Limbaugh, who has a history of making derogatory comments about African Americans. So I think, you know, overall, it’s a wash.”

Ingraham, however, was not having any of it, and she rushed to her friend Limbaugh’s defense.

“Jim Acosta is disgusting. That is a disgusting comment. Disgusting comment and false,” Ingraham said. “Every time they lose, they cry racism. Every time they lose, they say, ‘You’re a mean, horrible xenophobe.’ It’s insult after insult. What they accuse Trump of … is what they do routinely.”

Acosta made this comment just one day after Limbaugh revealed to his fans that he had been diagnosed with advanced stage lung cancer. Ingraham wasn’t the only prominent figure to defend the conservative radio legend. Limbaugh’s longtime producer James Golden, who typically goes by his pseudonym “Bo Snerdley,” also defended the icon.

“I just saw the footage from CNN’s Jim Acosta saying Rush has a ‘history’ of saying disparaging things about African Americans. I have been in the studio with Rush for 30 years. I would like to formally challenge CNN and @Acosta to provide the list,” tweeted Golden, who happens to be black.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee replied to Golden’s tweet with his own defense of Limbaugh, going so far as to accuse CNN of being “fake news.”

“It’s time for CNN to either provide the list or apologize on air for another piece of FAKE NEWS,” Huckabee tweeted. “I believe @BoSnerdley knows Rush better than anyone at CNN. Will CNN have the integrity to put up or shut up? Waiting and watching.”

Despite the fact that the left owns virtually all media outlets, liberals at CNN are still “triggered” by the few conservative voices in media. That’s why Acosta could not resist attacking Limbaugh and hitting him with racism allegations on his big night. Thankfully, Limbaugh’s friends were on-hand to ensure he did not get away with it.
