Over the weekend, we reported that 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg was considering making Hillary Clinton his pick for vice president. Now, Clinton has responded to these rumors, and she’s shooting them down.

Huffington Post reporter Yashar Ali reported that Clinton was asked directly on Tuesday whether she would consider being Bloomberg’s running mate if he wins the nomination.

“Oh no!” Clinton said. “I’m just waiting and watching as this plays out.”

Clinton went on to say that she is keeping close tabs on the race, and plans to support whoever wins the Democratic nomination.

“I will support whoever the nominee is because I think for all the reasons you can imagine, and here in Puerto Rico there are many, we need to have a new president for our country,” Clinton added while appearing at a Clinton Global Initiative event in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

This comes weeks after Clinton shut down any notion that she would run for president again, but left the door open to a possible vice presidential run.

“I never say never, because I do believe in serving my country, but it’s not going to happen,” Clinton told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.

“I will certainly tell you, I’m under enormous pressure from many, many, many people to think about it,” she added. “But as of this moment, sitting here in this studio talking to you, that is absolutely not in my plans.”

Clinton is not exactly known for her honesty, as she repeatedly said that she would not run for president in 2016 in the lead-up to her failed presidential run that year. Everything she says should be taken with a grain of salt, particularly when it comes to running for office. Should Bloomberg win the nomination, it would not surprise us one bit if Clinton pops up at his side as his running mate.
