Hillary Clinton breaks her silence about her Harvey Weinstein connections after he’s convicted of rape charges

Two time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has broken her silence about her ties to disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, who was previously one of her top donors and was convicted on rape charges this week.

Instead of being apologetic about the donations she received from the now-convicted rapist, Clinton tried to shift blame, saying that he donated to “every” Democrat’s campaign. Clinton was attending the Berlin International Film Festival for a screening of her new documentary “Hillary” when she was asked about Weinstein’s conviction, according to Fox Business.

“Well, I think that the jury’s verdict really speaks for itself,” Clinton said. “And it is obviously something that people have looked at and followed, because it was time for an accounting. And the jury clearly found that.”

Clinton, who has never returned the hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations that she received from Weinstein, seemed to get defensive when asked about this.

“He contributed to every Democrat’s campaign,” she said. “He contributed to Barack Obama’s campaign, and John Kerry’s campaign and Al Gore’s campaign and everybody’s campaign. I don’t know whether that should chill anyone else from contributing to political campaigns, but it certainly should end the kind of behavior that he was just convicted for.”

We reported earlier today that President Donald Trump had called out both Clinton and Michelle Obama for their friendships with Weinstein.

“The people who liked him were the Democrats,” Trump said. “Michelle Obama loved him, loved him. Hillary Clinton loved him.”

Prior to his downfall, Weinstein was a top Democratic donor who was clearly a huge fan of Clinton’s, as Federal Election Commission data shows that he donated at least $54,990.45 to her and her fundraising groups between her Senate run in 1996 and her latest presidential run in 2016. In addition, he is known to have donated $250,000 to the Clinton Foundation—that money has never been returned.

Clinton had no problem with Weinstein’s behavior, which was an open secret in Hollywood for years, when she was benefitting off of him financially. It is only now that Weinstein has been caught and held accountable that Clinton is trying to distance herself from him.

If Clinton was really the “warrior for women” that she likes to portray herself as, she would give back the hundreds of thousands of dollars that Weinstein donated to her foundation. Don’t hold your breath for that to happen, however; there’s one thing that’s always been Clinton’s main motivation in life, and it’s greed.
