Donald Trump Jr. lashed out at Democrats and the mainstream media today for politicizing the coronavirus, calling what they are doing a “new level of sickness.”
During an interview with “Fox & Friends” on Friday morning, Trump Jr. said that he is “not at all surprised” by the way Democrats have reacted to his father’s administration’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Anything that they can use to try to hurt Trump, they will,” Trump Jr. said. “Anything he does in a positive sense —like we heard from the reporter that was just suspended from ABC— they will not give him credit for.”

He went on to say that though the Democrats’ strategy is “old at this point,” for them to try to take a potential pandemic and “seemingly hope that it comes here, and kills millions of people so they can end Donald Trump’s streak of winning is a new level of sickness.”
This comes after The New York Times was hit with backlash for running an op-ed that effectively blamed the entire coronavirus on President Donald Trump, going so far as to say that the ailment should be renamed “Trumpvirus.”
“I don’t know if this is coronavirus or Trump Derangement Syndrome, but these people are infected badly,” Trump Jr. said. “To run that in The New York Times —this isn’t Vox, this isn’t one of those left-wing journals— this is The New York Times writing this with seriousness, it’s truly sick.”
“Now those same Democrats last week, when my father shut down travel to and from China, were saying it’s an overreaction, it’s a disaster, ‘you’re being xenophobic.’ Now, they’re flipping that,” he continued. “I mean they can have it both ways because no one in the media will actually cover themselves honestly. And that’s what’s gone on and I think the American people have seen it for what it is and it’s an absolute travesty.”
Coronavirus has quickly spread like wildfire around the world, with over 83,000 cases reported globally. In the U.S., there have been 60 recorded cases so far at the time of this writing, 33 of which are in California.

We can certainly feel the frustration of Trump Jr. It’s truly despicable that Democrats are politicizing a deadly virus at a time when we should be putting politics aside to come together and work on saving lives.
Democrats have long made it clear that they’d rather see our country fail than see Trump succeed. Now, they are showing that they’d rather see people die than see Trump succeed in stopping the coronavirus.
They should all be ashamed of themselves.
