Up to this point Dem on Dem conflict has been apparent but generally stopped at the water’s edge.

No more.

With the first two contests out of the way, the field getting slimmer, and the road to the big nod getting narrower, the game is for keeps now and the gamesters know it.

Nevada is the next battleground and Mike Bloomberg, now out of the box and damaged goods because of his uncovered lines on stop and frisk, is a big juicy target. We’d say big tall target, but, you know.

MORE NEWS: What if Biden drops out?

On Saturday night barking mad socialist Bernie Sanders went after him and was not subtle about it, “We will not create the energy and excitement we need to defeat Donald Trump if that candidate [Bloomberg] pursued, advocated for, and enacted racist policies like stop-and-frisk, which caused communities of color in his city to live in fear,” bellowed Sanders.

If you didn’t stop and frisk potential criminals of any color wouldn’t more people live in fear? But why quibble with socialist logic. Bernie went on.

“We will not defeat Donald Trump with a candidate who in 2015 stated, and I quote, ‘I, for example, am not in favor, have never been in favor, of raising the minimum wage.’”

Yeah, because raising it kills entry level jobs that benefit the very downtrodden you claim to represent. As a private sector guy Bloomberg knows this. Aside from Napoleon syndrome, what is Bloomberg even doing in this race? Shouldn’t he be the second term Trump SecTreasury or something? Back to Bernie.

“Mayor Bloomberg, with all his money, will not create the kind of excitement and energy we need to have the voter turnout we must have to defeat Donald Trump,” Sanders said.

Do you think Bernie Sanders will win the Democrat nomination?

Uh huh. Because the American voter has so traditionally turned out for the hard left. Let’s see, there was the Henry Wallace juggernaut of 1948, the McGovern landslide victory in 1972, and the Nader win of 2000. Right?

Pity Mikey. He can’t hit back as hard as he wants because if he alienates the Dem hard left he can’t win the party nod. That being said, he has to run to the middle to let Sanders and Warren cut up the left. There he has to worry about splitting the relatively moderate vote with Klobuchar, Biden (maybe not for long), and Buttigieg. Warren gets out of the way and the math favors Bernie. Until the convention, that is.

Bing-o! (said in my best Hans Landa voice).

So, on his way to having the nomination stolen from him-again, Bernie gets it repeatedly wrong and Bloomberg has to sit there and take it. Should be fun to watch.

P.S.- History geek alert…The rumor, given he is running in a party that sports a national socialist as top dog, that to rescue his floundering campaign the former veep is switching to the slogan, “Blut und Biden!” is a scurrilous canard that, granted, we just made up while writing this.
