Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas), in an exclusive interview with LifeZette, made a definitive case for President Donald Trump’s support of the American military — and against the Left’s knee-jerk anti-military responses.
Crenshaw’s words take on a greater urgency in light of the successful American airstrike on Baghdad International Airport on Thursday, which took out Iranian Quds Force General Qassem Soleimani.
Top Democrats are already asking why the president did not seek congressional authorization for the killing of Soleimani, a known sponsor of terrorism.
Crenshaw, a former SEAL, likely understands the operational security aspect of keeping the plans secret.
As he told LifeZette, “I think the Left likes to look for reasons to get mad.”
See this clip of his interview with LifeZette here:
Dems and the Left have criticized President Trump for not visiting military bases, though he has done so repeatedly overseas. Yet Crenshaw noted that military personnel do not care whether the commander-in-chief is anywhere near them in proximity.
Instead, Crenshaw stressed, “All our troops want is a clear mission and funding to do that mission.”
This analyst, a veteran himself, has seen more than once how the presence of high-ranking personnel can disrupt operations. Any vet will tell you the same thing.
A vet and a president who understood that was President George W. Bush. When this analyst was volunteering with the American Red Cross during the Hurricane Katrina Relief Operation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in September of 2005, President Bush paid a visit to the Red Cross HQ in Cortana in Baton Rouge. When a volunteer informed the president that his entourage and the press were hindering the work that was going on, Bush thanked the volunteer for his honesty — and turned around and walked out.
Crenshaw also remarked that “Trump has delivered” for America’s armed forces. Given the quick, strong and yet judicious use of force President Trump has deployed to the Middle East this week to combat aggression against U.S. troops and American interests, Crenshaw is being proven right on this at this very hour.
Crenshaw is a big believer in sharing clear, direct explanations with the American people about a range of issues — it’s why he makes his “Here’s the Truth” videos, which are available on his Facebook page and on YouTube.
And see his tweet about the Trump-approved airstrike that took out Soleimani:
One of the world’s most pre-eminent sponsors of terrorism, Qassem Soleimani, is dead after spending 20 years spreading death & destruction, including killing hundreds of Americans.
Good night for America, Iraq & the entire region.
