A Massachusetts couple is being credited with assisting in the arrest of a man who abducted an 11-year-old girl after the couple recognized a vehicle from an Amber Alert.

Amanda and Benny Correa observed a dark blue Honda with “distinctive rims,” that matched the alert and immediately began to pursue the vehicle. Video from inside their car shows the pursuit and captures audio of Amanda’s dramatic conversation with a 9-11 operator.

Amanda said it was the rims and odd movement of the car that made her suspicious.

“Some of the video sorry [for the drama] but when I saw the person in the back seat being pushed down all we could think about is her and the danger she was in,” Disley writes. “[I] wasn’t even sure if it was the right car just the gut feeling my husband and I had by the rims and the funny movements in the car.”

The couple can be heard shouting descriptives of the suspect’s erratic driving.

“It’s him, it’s him! It’s a blue Honda Civic and they’re doing 100 miles per hour right now!” Disley and Correa are heard shouting in the video during the heart-pounding scene. “He’s blowing through red lights!”

Responding police pulled the car over and found the young girl, Charlotte Moccia, unharmed.

The suspect, Miguel Rodriquez, 24, who has a record involving sexual assault, was subsequently arrested.

Moccia’s family issued a statement of gratitude and particularly thanked the Correa’s for their brave participation in Rodriquez’s apprehension.

“In particular, we’d like to thank Amanda Disley and her husband for their vigilance and courage for putting themselves in harm’s way to make sure she wasn’t out of their sight,” the family said, according to the outlet.
