The impeachment stall could only last so long, especially after the Dems made it a matter of national life or death.
But House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif) thought she could play political games with the nation’s fate until GOP Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) caved—or until President Trump told him to.
According to the Dems, a country with no pulse had just been wheeled into the political emergency room, such was what the horrid fascist Trump regime was doing to America.
But then the Dem ER docs decided to take a weeks long coffee break. Back to work quacks.
Spoiling the Dem winter break from reality, both McConnell and Trump held fast while Pelosi’s own California legislative colleague, Senator Diane Feinstein (D-Calif) went south on her.
Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) also wanted the process expedited.
Ditto Senator Angus King (I-ME) and Senator Chris Coons (D-DE).
They could hear the music about to stop and didn’t want to be left without a seat. It’s another big win for the president.

For Pelosi?
Her action recalls what Dean Rusk, President John F. Kennedy’s Secretary of State said when the Soviets backed down in the Cuban Missile Crisis, “We’re eyeball to eyeball, and the other fellow just blinked.”
She folded like a cheap card table in this letter to colleagues, “I have asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler to be prepared to bring to the Floor next week a resolution to appoint managers and transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate. I will be consulting with you at our Tuesday House Democratic Caucus meeting on how we proceed further.”
Now she could still be up to something. Notice the “have asked” and “be prepared”, both possible stalls as it shoots the ball back in Nadler’s court. Then “next week” is about appointments.
How long will that take? Then there’s the next Tuesday consult. But by her public statement today if she tries another medium to long stall she further destroys an already weak case in front of the American people.

Numbers and political bets are flying around DC regarding the over and under in the Senate.
The bigger picture sees up to 4 GOP senators voting guilty and up to 3 Dems voting to acquit. However, since the Dems have to get 67 to remove the president from office and the present numbers close to balance out, expect barring unforeseen issues about 51-52 against removal.
But also expect Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) to have a couple of rabbits still in his hat.
