Things got heated on “The View” on Monday when Rep. Adam Schiff and conservative cohost Meghan McCain got into it over Democrats’ efforts to impeach President Donald Trump.

Referencing the fact that polls have shown that the left’s impeachment efforts have not hurt Trump in the eyes of voters, McCain asked Schiff if it was a good political move to try and remove the president from office.

Schiff replied by saying that he chose to move towards impeaching Trump because the president feels  he is “above the law,” which is why he felt the House had to move forward with impeachment “even if the Senate won’t do their constitutional duty.”

Undeterred by this response, McCain pointed out that this will end up hurting Democrats if they are “on the Hill instead of campaigning,” according to Fox News.

“Say what you will about the Constitution and duty, this will hurt Democrats politically, do you agree?” McCain asked the California Democrat.

Schiff fired back by saying that if Senators are actually “doing their job,” it will help them in the end.

“I’ve always felt that the best campaign was simply doing a good job and I don’t think that voters are gonna hold it against senators for taking the impeachment of the President of the United States seriously,” Schiff explained. “I think it is our duty to uphold the constitution.”

McCain’s fellow conservative cohost Abby Huntsman, who announced today that she will be leaving the ABC talk show at the end of the week, got in on the action as well by asking Schiff if he or the Bidens will be testifying in the upcoming impeachment trial, should they be subpoenaed.

“Look, I’m not a fact witness so, other than mollifying the president, I’m not sure why the Senate would call me or Nancy Pelosi as a witness,” Schiff replied.

“There is not much light Joe Biden or Hunter Biden can shed on the president’s conduct.”

“Then why not have them show up, if you have nothing to hide?” Huntsman asked.

“It would convert the Senate trial into the same kind of sham proceeding that the president sought to have Ukraine undertake,” Schiff said in response.

It should be clear to everyone at this point that Schiff is leading a witch hunt against President Trump and is hellbent on impeaching him at all costs.

Good for McCain and Huntsman for calling him out on his nonsense in front of all of America.
