Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) told “Fox and Friends” this morning that he will introduce a senate measure to dismiss impeachment charges against President Trump if Dem House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to stall on sending over impeachment articles to the Senate.
Hawley commented, “Nancy Pelosi is attempting to obstruct a Senate trial. That’s all there is to it. The Constitution says that the Senate is the one that will have the trial. It says the trial will follow the impeachment. Now she’s trying to prevent us in a trial. She’s trying to obstruct it, she’s trying to upend the Constitution. So here’s what I think needs to happen. We need to change the Senate rules to allow the Senate to dismiss this case if she refuses to send the articles over,” he concluded.
The senator has it right.

Pelosi is caught in a trap of her own making. With the nation tired of the saga and Dem poll numbers in the gutter on impeachment, Pelosi is panicking like a Unitarian at bible study and is paralyzed with inaction.
If she goes ahead and sends the impeachment over to the Senate she knows the president will be exonerated and the entire years long hit job will have been for naught.
Voters then, Dems included, will not be happy with her and her hapless party.
If she ducks, comes up with some lame rationale, and drops the whole thing the same fate awaits her. So she is desperately hoping some deus ex machina enters from stage left and saves her.
Until then she verbally tap dances and stonewalls, as they are the only talking points left to her to manage the situation.
The country is already tired of the melodrama.

If we enter into more intense military operations against Iran, which is possible, then not only would Pelosi be stringing America along at her whim, she would be impeding the work of a Commander-in-Chief protecting American lives and interests abroad.
Pelosi needs to be politically coerced to put up or shut up.
Hawley’s proposed bill does just that. We hope to see it soon come up for a Senate vote.
