The New York Post is reporting that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating claims from a concerned party that Rep. Ilhan Omar married her brother.

The news comes shortly after additional reports suggesting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the FBI were looking into criminal activity by the Minnesota congresswoman.

“Two FBI agents held an hours-long meeting in Minnesota in mid-October with a concerned party who handed over a trove of documents regarding Omar’s 2009 marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi,” the Post explains.

Last summer, the left-leaning Minneapolis Star-Tribune relayed a story on documents that raised questions as to whether Omar married her own brother as a means to “skirt immigration laws.”

“If Omar did marry her brother, she could be found guilty of committing marriage fraud — a felony offense punishable with a prison sentence of up to five years and a fine of up to $250,000,” according to the Post.

‘Astonishing Spree of Felonies’

Earlier this month, a report from David Steinberg at The Blaze indicated Omar (D-MN) was being investigated by multiple federal agencies for alleged crimes surrounding – in part – her controversial and sordid marriage history.

Steinberg defined the allegations against Omar as an “apparent, astonishing spree of felonies from 2009 to 2017.”

Judicial Watch filed a congressional ethics complaint against the Democrat Representative in July, saying she must be investigated for “perjury, immigration fraud, marriage fraud, state and federal tax fraud, and federal student loan fraud.”

Fox News correspondent Trace Gallagher indicated the latest investigations surround allegations involving “perjury, immigration fraud, tax fraud, student loan fraud, and possibly bigamy.”

Her Complicated Marriage History

Aside from having committed to civil marriage with Elmi from 2009 up until 2017, Omar has found her marital life to be the subject of scrutiny for some time.

This past October, Omar filed for divorce from husband Ahmed Hirsi after allegations that she was having an affair with a political consultant surfaced.

Omar even raised eyebrows after deleting a tweet from 2013 that wished a Happy Father’s Day to a man named “Nur Said,” a name matching the father of Elmi.

The liberal media went apoplectic back when President Donald Trump suggested he had heard stories about the potential immigration fraud perpetrated by Omar. Rather than actually investigate since then, they condemned him for bringing up such a wild conspiracy.

“There’s a lot of talk about the fact that she was married to her brother,” Trump told reporters. “I know nothing about it … I’m sure that somebody would be looking at that.”

Somebody finally is looking into it, it would seem – the FBI.
