When actress Patricia Arquette won a Golden Globe tonight for her role in the television series “The Act,” she had a nice opportunity to praise her colleagues and gracefully thank the Hollywood Foreign Press for giving her an award.
Instead, she decided to use the bulk of her moments onstage to bash President Donald Trump and lecture Americans about how important it is to vote him out office in 2020, showing the world what an out of touch Hollywood liberal she really is!
“We’re not going to look back on this night in the history books,” she lectured. “We will see a country on the brink of war, the United States of America — a president tweeting out a threat of 52 bombs, including cultural sites.”
It seems that Arquette thinks she is so clever that she knows exactly how history will look upon the current political situation. Now that’s an unprecedented level of narcissism, even for a Hollywood star.

Not stopping there, Arquette kept going with a call to arms.
“I beg of us all to give [our kids] a better world,” she later continued. “For their kids, and our kids, we have to vote in 2020 and we have to get…to beg and plead for everyone we know to vote in 2020.”

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that when Arquette was begging for Americans to get everyone they know to vote in 2020, she wasn’t talking about conservatives…
Arquette would have done well to follow the advice that host Ricky Gervais gave at the beginning of the show, when he said to the event’s attendees, “if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.”
Arquette’s speech was a prime example of why millions of Americans are sick and tired of Hollywood’s self-congratulatory awards shows. It’s insulting that a wealthy woman like Arquette who is paid big bucks just to act for a living thinks she has the right to lecture the rest of us on our current political situation.

Within minutes of Arquette’s speech, social media users made it clear that her little liberal soap box moment had backfired:
I so wanted to watch tonight but had to change the channel. Tweeted NBC, Patricia Arquette, and Golden Globes. She always has to say something, does she know how hard it is to keep the US and the world safe after 8 years of the weakest Administration in history?

I actually watched the show until Patricia Arquette went off on her rant, turned it off. 👋🏻 Plus your dress was hideous and inappropriate for a woman who's a bit overweight and older.

@patriciaarquette politics completely inappropriate for a movie tv awards show! Shame on you! Ricky even specifically asked these topics not be used which are not "thanking hfp and cast" & wasting time. Use platforms, but not tv shows. I had 2 change channel. @nbc @rickygervais

Speeches like this are why awards show ratings have been on the decline in recent years. Americans who actually have to work for a living on Monday morning have better things to do tonight than listen to out of touch liberal elites lecture them about how evil the president that we voted into office supposedly is.
If the liberals of Hollywood despise Trump this much, he’s actually doing something right. Unlike his predecessor Barack Obama, Trump has never cared about being popular with Hollywood stars. Instead, he has prioritized helping the working class Americans who voted him into office, and that’s exactly what he’s done in the past three years.
Keep triggering the liberals of Hollywood, President Trump: it only makes the rest of us love you even more.
