In a tweet he sent out on Christmas morning, former Vice President Joe Biden — still a 2020 Dem presidential frontrunner at this point — included a photo that he mentioned was “from my family to yours.”

Well, apparently not from his entire family.

Conspicuously missing from the lovely portrait was Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, and the younger Biden’s new wife.

Choosing not to focus a political campaign on a close family member, especially one as controversial as Hunter Biden is these days, can be understood.

But not including your own son in a Christmas family photo?

Hmmm …

As has happened so much with Joe Biden during this campaign cycle so far, his clumsy attempt to cover something up has just given the story legs.

Later on Christmas Day, Joe Biden posted a video on Twitter that starred two of the Biden dogs, Champ and Major Biden, and was billed as “from the entire Biden family, that means even the dogs.”

It seems Hunter Biden is in the doghouse — and then some.

Hunter Biden’s absence from the photos bespeaks a father and a presidential campaign that regard him as radioactive. And no wonder.

The younger Biden’s past issues with reported drug abuse and erratic personal behavior raise serious questions about his judgment. The nepotistic Burisma board job and the exorbitant payments for his services there — and current paternity issues with a former exotic dancer from Arkansas — give lots of fuel to that particular fire.

The Dems have made a point over the last three years of criticizing the prominent roles presidential daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, have played in the administration of President Donald Trump.

Not only has that attack backfired when it comes to Hunter Biden, but as of Thursday, the whereabouts of the Biden son is unknown.

After he skipped a child support hearing earlier this month in Arkansas per the case with the mother of his child, one of his lawyers even quit in the middle of the case.

This cannot have been a motivator to keep a large public profile. But going on the lam and then being banned — or at least omitted — from the family Christmas picture?

Not a smart move.

With all the gaffes and charges of being confused on the campaign trail, the last thing candidate Joe Biden needs is more family scandal headaches from his son.

This holds truer as both Joe Biden and Hunter Biden could be called as witnesses in a potential Trump Senate trial.
