Trump: ‘Long or Short’ Impeachment Trial in the Senate, His Team Will Be Ready, He Says

The president is taking on the Democrats in a way they never expected

The House Democrats decided to go further into the abyss, in my view, this past week by voting in the majority to send articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the House of Representatives for a full vote.

The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.J.), staged contentious hearings late into the evenings, culminating in a vote for the articles of impeachment along partisan lines.

President Trump will become only the third president to ever be slapped with articles of impeachment.

Most people, including myself, feel that Democrats are angry because they were defeated in 2016.

And they know that with the bad crop of candidates they have now, this desperate Hail Mary move might win over some Americans before the general election.

Should President Donald Trump be impeached?

The one thing Democrats do not understand or didn’t plan for was for a Republican president who fought back.

Others in the past would have laid down and compromised before things got to this point — but Trump is not backing away from the Democrats and their childish behavior.

Here’s how Yahoo News explained it:

President Trump said Friday that he hasn’t decided whether to wage a long or short impeachment defense in the U.S. Senate, but either way, he expressed confidence in the outcome.

“I’ll do whatever I want. Look, there is — we did nothing wrong,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “So I’ll do long or short. I’ve heard Mitch [McConnell], I’ve heard Lindsey [Graham]. I think they are very much in agreement on some concept. I’ll do whatever they want to do, it doesn’t matter.”

During a Thursday night appearance on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell [R-Ky.] told the host that his “hope is that it will be a shorter process rather than a lengthy process.” McConnell also made clear that he was acting in lockstep with the White House.

“Everything I do during [the impeachment process], I’m coordinating with White House counsel,” McConnell said. “There will be no difference between the president’s position and our position as to how to handle this.” (source: Yahoo News)

Many Democrats believe this impeachment is a sham — and it won’t be surprising if more and more come forward before the Senate throws the whole thing out the window.

This is why they watered down the articles of impeachment; they’re trying to stop the bleeding after the poll numbers started going south in favor of Trump.

They’re trying to put the bullet back in the chamber.

More Democrats, it appears, are coming to their senses about the misdirection of the Democrat socialist party — and not just the politicians, either.

Many of their long-time voters are abandoning them.

An old high school friend who was a diehard Dem just befriended me the other day on Facebook — and he’s posting pro-Trump stuff on his page now. He does not support impeachment.

I hope everyone can be healed of the Trump Derangement Syndrome that the Democrats have been pedaling.
