Remember when disgraced former FBI Director James Comey took a victory lap after the IG report was released and claimed that he was “vindicated”?
N0t so fast, buddy.
As it turns out, nobody has been vindicated.
That’s what Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz said during his Senate testimony on Wednesday.
Now, Comey looks like a bigger fool than he already did.
One hopes he’s sweating bullets as Attorney General Bill Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham continue with their probe into the “Crossfire Hurricane” coup.
Meanwhile, former committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) has some helpful advice for James Comey.
After watching yesterday’s Senate hearing, Trey Gowdy said that Comey shouldn’t write any more “ethics books.”
Gowdy called out Comey for foolishly claiming he was vindicated.
“I don’t know what report Comey read. This is the third IG report that has found his conduct to be substandard,” said Gowdy, in part.
“If he wants to take a victory lap because he’s not indicted, more power to him. Don’t write any more books on ethics … Don’t tell me what the ethical standard is if you think this report vindicates you.”
