The world seems to be full of incidences of off-the-charts evil — while God’s work is simultaneously spreading like a powerful wildfire.
So how is it that both good and evil seem to be growing so powerfully at the same time?
Jesus said the seeds of good and evil were being sown in the world.
He also predicted they would grow together.
In the parable of the tares, found in Matthew chapter thirteen, Jesus said, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age” (vs. 37-39).
He also said, “Let both grow together until the harvest” (vs. 30).
We are definitely witnessing the exponential growth of both good and evil.

For example, the radical conversion of rapper Kanye West, who has gone all in for Christ, has produced a great spiritual stir on the west coast.
Meanwhile, the dark cloud of school shootings, sex trafficking, and suicide continue to be shocking reminders of burgeoning evil in our society.
Which side are you on?
We often think that we are not contributing to the evil news headlines that shock us every night from the comfortable confines of our couch.
But no one is neutral.
Jesus said, “You are either for me or against me” (Matthew 12:30).
Furthermore, those whose behavior shocks us didn’t get that way overnight.

Their slide into the slum of sin likely began with the more subtle enemies of the soul like bitterness, pride, fear, worry and anxiety — which capitulated them into the throes of more shocking evil.
Sin always take us further than we want to go — just look at Satan, whose “harmless” sin of PRIDE got him kicked out of Heaven!
Are we allowing these “harmless” sins of anxiety, bitterness, worry, fear, pride, etc., to live in our minds?
If so, we are on the wrong side.
When we are born again, we are given a powerful connection with the Holy Spirit.
To avoid becoming part of the forces of evil, we must protect our minds from sins that produce mental torment.
Jesus is the Prince of Peace.
When we keep our mind stayed on Christ — we live as light and goodness in this world of darkness.
