Pelosi Bashes Trump for Tweet About Yovanovitch: ‘He Made a Mistake’

The House speaker took the time to speak with CBS News — and called the president 'insecure' and an 'imposter'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Friday told Margaret Brennan of CBS News that President Donald Trump is an “imposter” who “is in over his head” in the Oval Office.

Pelosi used her statement to “explain” why Trump “attacked” former United States Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch on Twitter during her congressional testimony in Friday’s impeachment inquiry hearings.

Said Brennan, “Why do you think he was tweeting about her?”

Pelosi responded, “Because he knows — well, he made a mistake and he knows her strength.”

“And he was trying to undermine it,” Pelosi added.

“Of course, presidents appoint ambassadors, but people don’t insult people, especially when they’re giving testimony before the Congress of the United States,” said Pelosi.

“I think even his most ardent supporters have to honestly admit this is the wrong thing for the president to do.”

Then she followed up with, “I think part of it is his insecurity as an imposter.”

Way to go with keeping up your standards, Madam Speaker.

It is good, however, that she acknowledged that an ambassadorship is up to the sitting president.

Donald Trump was elected by the people of this country to be president.

He will be re-elected in 2020, in my view, by the people of this country to be our president again.

Pelosi and most of her Democrat colleagues refuse to accept the will of the people — and their “resistance” will cost them dearly, I believe.

She knows this but cannot stop it.

Should President Donald Trump be impeached?

If President Trump is an “imposter,” then we need more like him and fewer actual congresspeople like Pelosi.

The best economy in 60 years, the lowest unemployment rate for everyone in 60 years, a booming economy, a stock market that continually sets record highs, an energy-independent U.S., renegotiated trade deals putting our country first, and more: This is what Trump has achieved during his White House tenure so far.

What has Pelosi done?

Immediately after Trump won the 2016 election, opponents of his began what they called the resistance — and they rallied around a strategy of using every tool and maneuver to sabotage the functioning of the executive branch and the Trump administration, in my view.

The language of “insurgency” suggests the current government is not legitimate.

This is a very dangerous and incendiary notion in the politics of a democratic republic.
