Speaking to Democratic supporters in Iowa on Friday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) had some trouble keeping her thoughts clear and getting the words out.

And it appeared to leave a crowd of people a bit confused as to what they were actually cheering for during a raucous rally for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) as he seeks the 2020 Democratic nomination for the presidency.
“We don’t let this race happen to us … We don’t watch the presidential race. This is not a movie, this is a movement,” said Ocasio-Cortez at one point to the crowd.
And it was followed by these remarks.
“So here’s the deal,” she said during part of her speech.
“You know, and what it also — and so the deal is — sorry.”
“And here’s the deal.”
“The deal is — I’m like, I got so much going on in my mind because I’m just talking to you all this evening,” she continued.
“And I was, like, trying to prepare some remarks on the plans.”
“And I was like, ‘I’m just gonna talk to them, OK?'”
“And so here’s the deal — is that, we have to stitch ourselves together. We have to connect ourselves to one another.”
“The thing is — is that, our destinies are tied.”
She also said about a so-called coalition of Democrats, “We need to stitch this movement together, bit by bit, stitch by stitch, and that’s how we’re going to win.”
“That’s not just how we’re going to win a Bernie Sanders presidency, but that’s how we’re going to win our future back. That’s how we’re going to win our country back.”
“That’s how we’re going to win it all.”
As The Des Moines Register noted, Friday’s rally “was the first of three campaign events Sanders was to hold with Ocasio-Cortez, with two more scheduled Saturday. They were to travel from the western edge of the state, hold a ‘climate crisis summit’ in Des Moines midday Saturday and end with a rally in Coralville.”
