Yet there is one thing I’m sure of: The trash talk that’s been dished out on social media about his concerts and his sermons is pretty unbelievable.

Comments are coming from the holier-than-thous who are hiding behind online threads with forked tongues — and who probably are sinning themselves.

I don’t know what Kanye West’s motives are. Don’t know his heart for God.

That’s not my business. It’s God’s.

So step off, critics — and try praying for West instead of shouting cruel, callous and repugnant comments about him.

Yes, I am calling out many believers and trying to watch my own commentaries as well on the matter.

The criticisms, it seems, are from those who don’t want Christianity in Hollywood — they also don’t want others to embrace it within our own communities.

But as Kanye West explained to over 45,000 people in attendance at Pastor Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas, on November 17, “The only superstar is Jesus.”

After the service, West talked openly about his personal faith and his beliefs with Osteen during a Q & A.

“God has been calling me for a long time,” said West.

“The devil has been distracting me for a long time.”

Osteen hosts a weekly television program that is seen by more than 13 million households in America — and he caused a meme storm on Twitter after West was invited to speak.

The rapper also faced verbal attacks in the media after releasing the album, “Jesus Is King,” on October 25.

“The way he talks about women in his other/recent albums, I’m skeptical he knows the Gospel,” wrote one Twitter critic. “I am much more willing to believe Chance [The Rapper] is born again than Kanye.”

Premier Christianity magazine columnist Tobi Oredein wrote earlier this year that her issue with Kanye’s Sunday Services is that “they appear to be exclusive clubs for the rich and famous. The average person can’t visit — instead, we’re kept at arm’s length, merely watching on screens. A church — or any gathering led in Christ’s name — should be open to everyone.”

However, Kanye West’s Sunday Service with Joel Osteen was free and open to the public. One needed only to apply for a ticket, at no cost.

Osteen, for his part, regularly faces his own criticism for his theology and his stance against same-sex marriage, among other things.

“There’s a lot of people in the Christian community that give Joel a hard time because when you turn on the video, he keeps showing you how good God is,” said West, defending Osteen.

Yet some 1,000 people recently accepted Christ at Kanye West’s Sunday Service, as Lifezette reported on November 6. Ministry pastor Curvine Brewington posted on Instagram the experience wasn’t a Hollywood act.

“I got to experience Kanye West’s Sunday Service at @bethany_church in Baton Rouge. If you’ve ever doubted the legitimacy or spiritual impact of this #sundayservice project, simply look at this incredible shot taken by @the.smitan during the altar call. YES, I said ALTAR CALL,” wrote student ministry pastor Curvine Brewington on Instagram.

Actress Patricia Heaton, best known for her “Everybody Loves Raymond” role, is a Catholic and supports West.

“I think when someone of his stature in the industry and someone who has his amount of fame make that kind of proclamation, people then really watch and scrutinize everything he does to catch him falling down. I hope that he is able to handle that because that’s what’s going to happen,” she told The Christian Post in a recent interview.

Kanye West is encouraging people to learn more about Christ and the Bible, leading people to worship.

So why all the hate when clearly people are being saved?

I would ask these people: How many individuals have they personally led to Christ?

I think the silence would be deafening.

“Jesus has won the victory,” West also shared with Osteen. “I told you about my arrogance and cockiness already. Now the greatest artist that God has ever created is now working for Him.”
