Under close questioning from Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and others, acting Ambassador to Ukraine Bill Taylor was shown to have been clearly wrong about his belief that financial aid was held up to Ukraine due to a “quid pro quo” that demanded a public statement on a probe into Burisma by the Ukrainian president.

As Jordan — a member of the House Freedom Caucus and newly moved over to the House Intelligence Committee — clearly pointed out on Wednesday, the military aid was restored without any public statement by the Ukrainian leadership concerning an investigation into Hunter Biden, a son of former Vice President Joe Biden, and Burisma, a natural gas company based in Ukraine.
Thus, the entire Democrat case on impeachment is based on a fallacy and a fantasy — which seeks to prosecute the president of the United States for an act that never happened.
And as Rep Mike Turner (R-Ohio) pointed out, the testimony of both George Kent and Bill Taylor on Wednesday would not have been permitted in a court of law because it is all hearsay — i.e., secondhand information.
Neither one of the witnesses who appeared on Wednesday before the Intelligence Committee — run by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) — are claiming any firsthand evidence of presidential misconduct.
The mainstream media, though, as predicted, were quick to come to Taylor’s defense.
Chris Wallace of Fox News, early on Wednesday, called Taylor’s testimony “very damaging to President [Donald] Trump.”
Wallace must have said that before the GOP’s cross-examination — or he was watching a different hearing, in my view.
This will not be the last shill in the tank for the Democrats.
Surprised it comes from Fox News?
Don’t be.
Since the change of leadership at the top of the network from father to son — and given that the son’s wife has worked for the Clinton initiative — Fox News, on the news side, has increasingly moved to the Left, in my personal view.
As questioning continued on Wednesday afternoon, Republicans consistently hammered at the credibility of the testimonies of both Kent and Taylor.
Whether in Schiff’s bunker or in open hearings, 4 facts will never change:
-The call transcript shows no linkage
–@POTUS and Zelensky both say no pressure
-Ukraine didn’t know aid was held up at the time of the call
-Ukraine never took any action to get aid released— Rep. Jim Jordan (@Jim_Jordan) November 13, 2019
Taylor was still struggling with his answers under questioning.
Kent came across as smug and not telegenic.
Thus on message and tone, not to mention in actual facts, GOP committee members were tearing apart the hearsay case of the Dems point by point.
