‘God’s Care for Us Is Immeasurably Greater Than the Greatest Capability of Any Human’

God’s care for us is immeasurably greater than the greatest capability of any human.

The Psalmist captures God’s care in the most beautiful way in Psalms 139.

As you read the descriptions of how God cares, can you think of anyone else who so completely and attentively cares for you like God?

Take a look: “You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! If I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you” (excerpts from Psalms 139).

Amazing!

When I meditate upon how tenderly and thoroughly God loves me, it evokes praise and worship of Him for all He is.

Who is this God of such tender care?

The knowledge of God’s love is so wonderful that my heart, which is so terribly scarred by sin and so accustomed to imperfect love, cannot comprehend it.

He cares for me so much that He takes the time to know my thoughts, my ways, my words before I speak them.

He knows the path before I choose it.

He covers me in ways I don’t even know or appreciate.

Yet He does it anyway.

His tender thoughts and love toward me are more vast than the sand on every seashore.

And even if I can’t comprehend it, I am humbly grateful to experience it.

I don’t want to live without Him.

No earthly love compares to God’s immeasurably tender care of my heart.
