Donald Trump Jr. took a figurative blowtorch to the set of “The View” on ABC — and actually got the audience on his side at one point.

That prompted co-host Joy Behar to lash out and scold the audience.

Trump Jr., who appeared alongside his girlfriend and former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle, went in with guns a-blazing in a battle with several intellectually overmatched entertainers.

The wheels came off during the interview when the president’s eldest son dared to mention that Behar had worn blackface in her own past, something easily proven in a rudimentary Google search — but something she denied.

He also tackled Whoopi Goldberg’s past comments in which she defended Roman Polanski.

Behar took Don Jr. to task over rhetoric and discourse — something that triggers her and her core audience, as we see it.

“We’ve all done things we regret,” Trump Jr. began. “I mean, if we’re talking about bringing discourse down … Now, Joy, you’ve worn blackface.”

Behar denied it immediately — and Goldberg was trying to interject as well.

Trump Jr. wasn’t having it.

“Whoopi, you said that Roman Polanski … ‘It wasn’t rape, rape’ when he raped a child,” he continued.

The meltdown was in full swing after that.

Behar denied over and over again after Trump Jr.’s comments that she had ever dressed in blackface. Yet she most definitely did.

It’s something, by the way, that would have ruined the careers of comedians far more talented than herself.

Behar’s stunt took place many, many years ago.

An image of her was posted during a segment of “The View” when Behar admitted to having dressed up as “a beautiful African woman.”

“I was so cute. I was 29. It was a Halloween party,” Behar says in the clip, prior to noting that she used makeup “that was a little bit darker than my skin.”

Huh.

Imagine somebody like Roseanne Barr having done this.

Trump Jr. also made a mockery of Goldberg for justifying the actions of Polanski, who has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.

“I know it wasn’t ‘rape rape,'” she said at the time. “I think it was something else, but I don’t believe it was ‘rape rape.'”

Goldberg challenged Trump Jr., asking if he dared to question her character.

In our opinion, when you justify the rape of a 13-year-old by saying it may have been something else, perhaps consensual — then, yes, your character can be questioned.

Moving on to a discussion of the so-called whistleblower, covered extensively at The Political Insider, the ladies of “The View” asked Trump Jr. if he regrets sharing an article that identified the man behind the impeachment inquiry.

The president’s son said he shouldn’t be asked to forego his right to free speech when anyone can access the numerous articles on the internet that identify the whistleblower as CIA officer Eric Ciaramella, a registered Democrat who worked with former Vice President Joe Biden and former CIA Director John Brennan.

His stance prompted cheers, leading Behar to scold the audience and say, “This is not a MAGA rally.”

Bitter Behar has previously said on multiple occasions that President Donald Trump and his children belong in jail.

In discussing whether or not former campaign manager Paul Manafort might get a pardon, Behar suggested the president “has to save the pardons for his children, frankly … There’s a lot of kids in the family.”
