Trump is hoping to turn Minnesota red in the 2020 election.

The state wound up narrowly going for Democrat Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election — by approximately 1.5 percent, or some 44,000 votes.

On Thursday morning, police officer Chris Kelley — who is challenging Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) for her congressional seat — accused Omar and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey of using political intimidation tactics to try to prevent the rally this evening.

Frey managed to get the facility to charge the president’s campaign $530,000 for security — while former President Barack Obama was only charged $20,000.

“Both [Frey] and Ilhan Omar are speaking against the president coming here [on Thursday night] and I think that will embolden certain groups to come out and to try and cause problems,” Kelley explained.

Trump is due to speak at approximately 8 p.m. Eastern.

“I think I can win Minnesota,” Trump said from the grounds of the White House just before departing for tonight’s rally.
