My past is haunted by the many choices I made that caused suffering to others.

I am deeply ashamed to acknowledge the history of my selfish desires to pursue my own happiness at a great cost to others.

When God gave me the song, “Legacy of Love,” the question I was asking myself was: Will I continue to live in pursuit of my “happiness” — or will I live in God’s love and allow Him to leave a legacy of love through me?

God answered it by giving me a song that inspired me to live in HIS love.

When God is my greatest desire, my happiness is defined by His love.

What does His love look like?

The Bible says: “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things” (1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:4-7‬).

Does this description of love sound like the pursuit of happiness at the cost of causing someone else pain?

Happiness never lasts when it’s attained by forfeiting God’s love.

God’s love, as described in 1 Corinthians, bespeaks of complete unselfishness.

To have it, we must live with a heart purified by Him.
