Progressive squad member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said that President Donald Trump “sexually assaults women” in response to criticism of her over a climate change speech she delivered in Copenhagen last week at the C40 World Mayors Summit.

Ocasio-Cortez, 30, delivered an emotional speech at that event that has gotten a great deal of attention.

She proclaimed that her dreams of motherhood now “taste bittersweet” — due to what she perceives as the certain doom of climate change.

“I speak to you not as an elected official or public figure. But I speak to you as a human being,” she said.

“[I’m] a woman whose dreams of motherhood now taste bittersweet because of what I know about our children’s future and that our actions are responsible for bringing their most dire possibilities into focus,” she continued, as her voice began to crack.

People criticized Ocasio-Cortez for her over-the-top emotional pleas, including her claims that Trump “sexually assaults women, impulsively allows Kurds to be murdered, [and] boosts videos of shooting journalists.”

“You know, maybe one of the actual problems [with] our politics is that too many politicians don’t feel anything when Americans die [because] they can’t afford medicine, or when babies are permanently separated from parents,” the freshman lawmaker wrote.

“GOP only has tears for billionaires & outrage toward ‘others,’” she tweeted.

AOC’s response, which was full of outright lies against the president, never addressed why she was being criticized so heavily — she never addressed the topic of her ridiculous emotional pleas over climate change, in our view.

In her speech, she referred to herself as a “descendant of colonized peoples who have already begun to suffer,” calling Hurricane Maria, which caused thousands of deaths, a “climate change-powered storm.”

She even told the audience that her grandfather died in the aftermath of the storm and said that the damage it wrought was in part to blame on colonial rule, which “contributed to the dire conditions and lack of recovery.”

This is what the Democratic Party stands for today: Everything is filtered through identity politics.

And if AOC is going to make the outrageous claim that Donald Trump “sexually assaults women,” she should have something better to back it up with than her own politically correct sniveling.
