Trump Fights for Our Cities, Tells California Lawmakers on Homeless Crisis, ‘Clean It Up’

'Liberal policies of overregulation, excessive taxation, and poor public service delivery are combining to dramatically increase poverty and public health risks' in many American municipalities

President Donald Trump on Thursday spoke at a GOP lawmakers’ retreat in Baltimore, Maryland, and had a message for Los Angeles and other cities in California about the homeless problem that is way out of hand.

Trump’s message to those cities was, “Clean it up.”

How many times have we seen the videos and clips about the homeless problem on the West Coast?

Americans should not be living like that. City lawmakers in those cities continue to talk a good game yet have no action, in my view.

Should Trump keep building the wall?

Trump observed that businesses are leaving Democratic-controlled cities because the lawmakers in charge are not doing their jobs.

A White House official said the Trump administration has a team on the ground in the state of California to collect facts about the homelessness crisis — but would not go further on the agenda.

“We’re going to fight for the future of cities like Baltimore that have been destroyed by decades of failed and corrupt rule. These are our great American cities and they’re an embarrassment,” Trump said at the event, as ABC News and other outlets reported.

As ABC News also noted, “He’s made it a campaign issue, telling a Make America Great Again rally in August in Ohio, ‘Nearly half of all the homeless people living in the streets in America happen to live in the state of California. What they are doing to our beautiful California is a disgrace to our country. It’s a shame the world is looking at it. Look at Los Angeles with the tents and the horrible, horrible disgusting conditions. Look at San Francisco. Look at some of your other cities.'”

“Like many Americans, the president has taken notice of the homelessness crisis, particularly in cities and states where the liberal policies of overregulation, excessive taxation, and poor public service delivery are combining to dramatically increase poverty and public health risks,” White House spokesman Judd Deere said in a statement.

“In June, the president took action and signed an executive order to confront the regulatory barriers to affordable housing development, a leading cause of homelessness. President Trump has directed his team to go further and develop a range of policy options for consideration to deal with this tragedy.”

Many cities in California actually have created these problems: Democrats in that state should be ashamed to show their faces, in my opinion, as millions of dollars (if not more) have been wasted. And voters themselves should be ashamed for putting into office the politicians who have squandered money that should have been used to help citizens in need — rather than support and comfort illegal immigrants.

The mental health care facilities that once existed have moved to the streets, if you will — with absolutely no care of needy individuals. Many of the homeless have mental health issues or problems with drug addiction; some are ex-military with PTSD and other issues.

For all of the Trump haters out there and all those who say Trump doesn’t care about America: Answer me this. Former President Barack Obama just bought a multimillion dollar gated mansion on Martha’s Vineyard. How is he helping the homeless? The only way a homeless person could get onto an Obama property is by accident.
