‘The Experience of God’s Love Redefined Me to the Very Core of My Being’

After many years of disappointment, I remember the first time I experienced love from someone I knew would never hurt me.

It was such a staggering and transforming experience that God inspired me to write a song so I would never forget it.

When my heart strays back into the caverns of pain, these lyrics shine God’s love back into my heart.

The experience of God’s love redefined me to the very core of my being.

His love changed the way I handle heartbreak.

God’s love makes my heart less fragile because His love is unbroken.

Have you ever been so completely paralyzed by pain that life around you is surreal?

You don’t even possess the strength to cry out for help?

Yeah, I’ve been there. It’s when I’ve been there that my Father has taken me by the hand and tenderly led me away from the wreckage, or simply picked me up and consoled me.

He always knows what’s going on in my life — and, in my helplessness; His arms have never failed to hold me.

This beautiful truth is written in His Word.

“We love him, because he FIRST loved us” (1 John‬ ‭4:19‬).

I knew this promise; but until I allowed Him to truly love me, I’d never experienced it.

The song “Never Hurt You” is my personal reminder of God’s faithful, rescuing love.

One of my lyrics says this: “He hears you cry when your lips can’t make a sound; He’s the love that won’t hurt you.”

God’s love gives me hope for the future, gives me healing for my hurting heart — and leads me in the path of peace.

There is no place on earth like my Father’s love.

God’s love is the ONLY love that won’t hurt you.
