Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), one of the four so-called Democratic squad members, plans on Tuesday to introduce a resolution to launch an impeachment inquiry into sitting Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh as a result of The New York Times story published a few days ago about him — a story that is highly flawed, as people on both sides of the political spectrum have acknowledged.

(Update: Pressley filed the impeachment resolution on Tuesday; it pushes the House Judiciary Committee to start an inquiry that would mark the first step in an impeachment process.)

The committee is already conducting another “impeachment inquiry” into President Donald Trump on Capitol Hill on Tuesday.

Yet reports have emerged that Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), chair of that committee, was not and is not interested in such an investigation.

Nadler on Monday told WNYC radio, “We have our hands full with impeaching the president right now.”

“And that’s going to take up our limited resources and time for a while.”

Pressley said, in part, in a statement about Kavanaugh’s controversial accusers, “I believe Christine Blasey Ford. I believe Deborah Ramirez. It is our responsibility to collectively affirm the dignity and humanity of survivors.”
