President Can’t Rest When His Supporters Are Unfairly Attacked — Here’s How He Pushed Back Against Debra Messing

It’s one thing to attack President Donald Trump.

It’s quite another to attack his supporters.

When that happens, our “America First” president comes out swinging — and that’s exactly what occurred when actress Debra Messing went after black Trump supporters.

Trump is clearly done “messing” around, in my view, and he’s now calling on NBC to fire the “racist” actress.

Trump’s actions come after the former “Will and Grace” actress shared and celebrated a tweet that called Trump’s black supporters “mentally ill.”

As Deadline noted, Messing on Wednesday apologized for “liking” that image of a church sign calling black Trump voters “mentally ill.” In the anger and chaos that followed, the hashtag #RacistDebraMessing began to trend on Twitter. “I apologized for liking that church sign,” Messing wrote on Twitter on Wednesday. “I said I regret it. I [should] have thought before recklessly supporting.”)

Here’s what she originally wrote on Twitter:

President Trump compared this latest racist incident involving Messing to what happened with Roseanne Barr when ABC fired her for calling former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett an “ape.”

As The Daily Mail noted about this: “Donald Trump ratcheted up an attack on ‘Will & Grace’ actress Debra Messing on Thursday, calling for NBC to fire from the program over her suggestion that Hollywood liberals blacklist wealthy donors of the Republican president. She also suggested that black supporters of the president are mentally ill. She since since apologized on Twitter for the ‘reckless’ action while maintaining that Trump is targeting minorities.”

“He compared the incident to Roseanne Barr’s ousting from her namesake, ABC program and claimed a ‘double standard’ exists in the the TV and film industry for conservatives,” The Mail also explained.

“Bad ‘actress’ Debra The Mess Messing is in hot water. She wants to create a ‘blacklist’ of Trump supporters, & is being accused of McCarthyism. Is also being accused of being a racist because of the terrible things she said about blacks and mental illness,” Trump said of tweets Messing sent over the past month.

Trump added the following: “If Roseanne Barr said what she did, even being on a much higher rated show, she would have been thrown off television. Will Fake News NBC allow a McCarthy-style racist to continue? ABC fired Roseanne. Watch the double standard!”
