Evangelical leader Rev. Franklin Graham is known for calling out those who don’t support the views of the faithful, including the protection of innocent life in the womb — and he minced no words recently in a message about the controversial and pro-abortion stance of Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana, who is running for the 2020 Democratic nomination.

Buttigieg is gay and is married to his partner.

The Democratic candidate — who was on stage in Houston this past week during the third Democratic primary debate — apparently takes no issue with the killing of innocent children through abortion if that is the choice of the mother.

In a September 10 post on his Facebook page, Rev. Graham wrote about this: “Mayor Pete Buttigieg has been speaking openly about his support for abortion, which he says is a woman’s right to choose. That’s a crock — No one has the right to choose murder,” said Graham.

Graham is president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and Samaritan’s Purse.

Here is Rev. Graham’s message to his followers about this issue, something worth reading by all, no matter the political stance.

“Mayor Pete Buttigieg has been speaking openly about his support for abortion, which he says is a woman’s right to choose,” began Rev. Graham.

“That’s a crock. No one has the right to choose murder,” he continued.

“Pastor Rhyan Glezman, who is the brother of the man Mayor Pete is married to said, ‘I feel a sense of responsibility and stewardship of my faith to stand up and say something, to say, ‘No, that’s not true.'”

“Mayor Pete is trying to tell people that the homosexual lifestyle is OK with God and that abortion is OK,” Graham added. “His brother-in-law is right when he said, ‘This is leading people astray and it’s very, very dangerous.'”

“God defines right and wrong, not us,” continued Graham.

“As Christians, we are to live by the standards He gives us in His Word,” he also said. “‘I am the Lord, and there is no other; there is no God besides Me’ (Isaiah‬ ‭45:5).”

Those are words to think about and reflect on this weekend and far beyond — especially as the 2020 election season continues to heat up.

The post from Rev. Graham comes as the South Bend mayor recently used the Bible to explain why he believes life doesn’t begin until a baby takes his or her first breath, as Townhall reported the other day.

“Right now they hold everyone in line to this kind of piece of doctrine about abortion, which is obviously a tough issue for a lot of people to think through,” said Buttigieg during an interview on the New York-based radio show “The Breakfast Club.”

“Then again, you know, there’s a lot of parts of the Bible which talk about how life begins with breath. And even so, that’s something that we can interpret differently,” he also said.

“I’m pro-choice,” one of the hosts — Charlamagne tha God — then replied to the mayor.

“Me, too,” Buttigieg responded. “But I think no matter where you think about the kind of cosmic question about where life begins, most Americans can get on board with the idea of, ‘All right. I might draw the line here. You might draw the line there but most importantly, the person who should be drawing the line is the woman making the decision.'”

That’s what prompted Mayor Pete’s own brother-in-law, a pastor, to speak up about it: He wants the candidate to repent.

“God places a very high value on all human life. Everyone is created fearfully and wonderfully in the image of God with intrinsic value,” the evangelical pastor said to the Washington Examiner. “That doesn’t start at the first breath — it starts when we enter our mother’s womb.”
