Duane “Dog” Chapman reportedly suffered a heart emergency over the weekend and may need to undergo surgery.
The reality TV star is 66.
A report from TMZ late on Sunday night noted said a representative for the “Bounty Hunter” star told the site, “I can confirm Dog is under doctor’s care and is resting comfortably. Thank you for all of your well wishes — keep ’em coming.”
Just moments before that update, the site had reported that “sources now say Dog suffered a possible heart attack, but doctors are performing tests to know the precise nature of the problem.”
It had earlier reported, “Dog the Bounty Hunter was hospitalized this weekend after suffering a heart emergency that may require surgery — this just a couple months after his wife, Beth Chapman, died.”
Sources told TMZ that “the reality TV star was taken to a hospital from his home in Colorado after feeling a pain in his chest.”
“They’re also trying to figure out if he will need a corrective surgery.”
“Either way,” said TMZ, “it’s a scary incident for the Chapman family coming just a few months after Beth died from cancer.”
Fellow reality star Beth Chapman passed away in June of this year at age 51 after a two-year battle with throat and lung cancer.
Since her passing, the Chapman family has been dealing with several unforeseen issues, as celebrity site Wonder Wall reported: Their memorabilia shop was victimized by burglars in August, and Chapman “fell victim to a check scam a month prior.”
Duane and Beth Chapman were married for nearly 13 years and shared a daughter and a son. They also had 10 other children from former relationships.
