Turns out that the highly controversial accusations last year from Dr. Christine Blasey Ford (shown above right, beside Fox News’ Chris Wallace) against now-Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh were likely politically motivated.

Ford’s attorney, Debra Katz, was speaking at the University of Baltimore’s Feminist Legal Theory Conference when she said her client made the decision to make her decades-old accusations about Kavanaugh in part because she was concerned about his stance on abortion.
A report in Newsweek explains that Katz told a crowd at the event, “In the aftermath of these hearings, I believe that Christine’s testimony brought about more good than the harm misogynist Republicans caused by allowing Kavanaugh on the court. We were going to have a conservative [justice] … Elections have consequences, but he will always have an asterisk next to his name.”
She went on, “When he takes a scalpel to Roe v. Wade, we will know who he is, we know his character, and we know what motivates him, and that is important. It is important that we know, and that is part of what motivated Christine.”
Ford wrote in a letter to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) last year that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while she was at a house party in the early 1980s.
However, she was unable to specify where the event took place or who else was in attendance — and not one person could come forward to verify her claims that such a house party even occurred.

Ultimately, the Senate Judiciary Committee found “no evidence to substantiate any of the claims” — and Kavanaugh was ultimately sworn in.
The committee wrote, “In neither the committee’s investigation nor in the supplemental background investigation conducted by the FBI was there ANY evidence to substantiate or corroborate any of the allegations.”

Katz’s comments are in stark contrast to what Ford told the committee, as well as the American public, during her widely publicized testimony late last summer.
She had said during her comments, “My motivation in coming forward was to be helpful and to provide facts about how Mr. Kavanaugh’s actions have damaged my life, and so you can take into serious consideration as you make your decision.”
Ford still clearly has the backing of many liberals across the nation.
Ryan Lovelace, a reporter, pointed out the contradiction on “Fox & Friends” on the Fox News Channel. He said, “For me, it raised two big things. The first is it contradicts much of what Debra Katz said at the time as Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyer, that Christine Blasey Ford was ambivalent about all of this … And it contradicts … that Christine Blasey Ford was saying this was all about her ‘civic duty.'”

Even though it appears her motivation may have been political, Ford still clearly has the backing of many liberals in the nation.
A Go Fund Me campaign to support her legal bills had raised some $650,000 as of last fall.
