Ruth Bader Ginsburg Shares Career Tips (and Marriage Advice, Too): ‘I Love My Job’

Supreme Court justice, who is 86, told crowds in Washington, D.C., on Saturday that her work is 'the best and hardest' position she's 'ever had ... [It] keeps me going'

The Supreme Court justice — who has battled a number of ailments and situations in the past year or so — made an appearance on Saturday at the Library of Congress 2019 National Book Festival in Washington, D.C. — and let the crowds know how she feels about her position on the nation’s highest court.

“For one thing, I love my job,” Ruth Bader Ginsburg told the audience, as Fox News and other outlets reported.

“It’s the best and the hardest job I’ve ever had.”

“[It] keeps me going,” she added.

She also said, injecting some humor into her remarks, that “the audience can see that I’m alive.”

In addition, she made a point of saying that — rather than dwell on all the “aches and pains” she’s been suffering of late — she instead concentrates “on the court’s work,” which she said has kept her going through four bouts of cancer.

Ginsburg even offered advice about marriage.

She said she got a phone call from entertainer Jennifer Lopez not long ago to meet with her and her beau, former baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

Lopez asked the justice what her secrets were to a happy marriage, Ginsburg related to the crowd on Saturday.
