Lawrence O’Donnell of MSNBC is suddenly apologizing on Wednesday for an “error of judgment” he made on the air in regard to an anti-Trump report.
Last night on MSNBC, he delivered a report noting that Russian oligarchs “co-signed loans” that President Donald Trump supposedly obtained.
As Mediaite noted about it, “It [that report] was very thinly sourced, and even as he broke the report O’Donnell himself placed an ‘if true’ [caveat] on it.”
Both O’Donnell and MSNBC were, after that, heavily criticized for airing the report — and Trump’s attorney then sent NBC Universal a letter threatening legal action against them.

On Wednesday afternoon, O’Donnell took to Twitter to say, “I was wrong to discuss it on the air” when it “didn’t go through our rigorous verification and standards process.”

A cease & desist letter was sent from attorney’s for Trump’s company to MSNBC, NBC & O’Donnell. The story is false. Lawrence O’Donnell, any producer or whoever approved running with it should be terminated. This just plays into Trump’s narrative & further erodes trust in the MSM.

More bogus “reporting” from the liberal media. If Lawrence O’Donnell actually regretted his lies about @realDonaldTrump, he’d apologize. https://t.co/FxuZT4fJ2s

MSNBC should issue a public apology and suspend O’Donnell for his disgraceful reporting.
Will MSNBC do this? I doubt it.
