America’s first lady, in the dog days of summer, is looking ahead to a beautifully bedecked White House for the holiday season this fall and winter.
She’s already begun plans for this year’s upcoming holiday season, the White House announced this past week, as a number of outlets reported.
“First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald J. Trump will once again open the People’s House up to the public for the traditional Christmas decorating of the White House,” reads a statement from Mrs. Trump’s office.
The statement shared an application for volunteers who might want to help decorate the White House or act as greeters for its many guests during the popular holiday season — and for musicians who might enjoy the chance to perform at the White House during the season.
“Additionally, the White House invites musicians including high school bands, choirs, and Christmas-themed entertainers to apply for the opportunity to perform during the Holiday Open Houses throughout the month of December,” the statement noted.
People magazine noted that this is “not the first time Mrs. Trump, 49, has spotlighted Christmas cheer amid a backdrop of high-pressure current events.”

“In July, as Robert Mueller testified before Congress about his investigation into President Trump’s ties to the Russian government, she shared four photos on Twitter of her Christmas planning while in the White House’s East Wing.”
“’I’m looking forward to sharing our final vision for this unique tradition in the coming months,’ she wrote,” as People reported.
Melania Trump — sadly so — has come under intense left-wing media fire in past seasons for her holiday decorations at the White House.
Last year many critics literally said they hated her red Christmas trees.

Vogue magazine, for its part, called her 2018 decorations “a strange assemblage of blood red trees … [she] looks to be channeling ‘The Handmaid’s Tale.'”
Yet many visitors to the White House praised the decor — and said they enjoyed and appreciated the first lady’s tasteful and unique decorations.
“Every single person that came through the East Wing stopped for a photo” with the trees, conservative commentator and recent White House guest Paris Dennard told the Associated Press last December.

Conservative commentator and recent guest Armstrong Williams also told the outlet that he thought the red trees were “just classy” and “great for photos.”
As LifeZette reported last December, the first lady’s Christmas decorations theme for 2018 was “American Treasures.”
It highlighted “the spirit of patriotism.”
It took the group three full days to decorate the red trees and included hand-pinning thousands of red cranberry clusters to the trees.
The 45 red Christmas trees that led to the Grand Foyer and Cross Hall represented “patriotism” and “the heart of America,” according to a White House press release.
Ohio-based florist Vickie Wenstrup, one of 125 people selected from a pool of 7,000 applicants to volunteer their decorating services at the White House last year, personally helped decorate those red trees.
It took the group three full days to decorate the red trees and included hand-pinning thousands of red cranberry clusters to the trees, Wenstrup told WLWT5.
But mainstream media outlets and liberal critics panned the cranberry trees and viciously mocked Mrs. Trump for daring to try something so unique — just as they did the year before for her stunning white trees.
In 2017, many outlets, including House Beautiful, had harsh words for the gorgeous white trees.
House Beautiful that year rudely referred to the decorations as “a terrifying amount of white” — while a Daily Beast article claimed that the White House “[had] become the most terrifying domestic space in America,” as evidenced by the first lady’s decorations.
However, Melania Trump, is “unfortunately used to” divisive behavior, as her spokesperson said not long ago.
