Ashlyn Harris, a backup goaltender for the U.S. women’s soccer World Cup champions, slammed star player Jaelene Hinkle, a devout Christian.
Harris (above right) said Hinkle (left) was cut from the team for her “intolerance” and being “homophobic.”
But Harris, in our view, showed that her squad was intolerant of Christians by claiming that deeply held religious convictions have no place on the social justice-advocating team.

The controversy arose when reports surfaced that Jaelene Hinkle, widely considered the best player at her position, was left off the national squad.
But why?
Christians need not apply. The Irish Times reported last month that Hinkle “would have been a fish out of water on the uber-woke women’s national team, some of whose biggest stars are openly lesbian.”
Hinkle very publicly objected to a Supreme Court ruling in 2015 that legalized gay marriage.
Her message was clear, however: Christians need not object but continue to believe in the teachings of the Bible.
“My heart is that as Christians we don’t begin to throw a tantrum over what has been brought into law today, but we become that much more loving,” she wrote.
Jaelene Hinkle is the 26-year-old American footballer who gave up the opportunity to be in the USWNT.
I was very curious to know what happened so I went in search of her interview with CBN.

Who’s the intolerant party here? Harris, as has become typical of the ever-intolerant and overtly ignorant women’s soccer team, in our view, took Hinkle’s message of love — and slammed her for not falling in line.
“Your religion was never the problem,” Harris claimed in a tweet in response to something Hinkle never brought up.
“The problem is your intolerance and you are homophobic. You don’t belong in a sport that aims to unite and bring people together,” she also wrote on Twitter.
Is there any better demonstration that the women’s soccer team has been overrun with bigots than the phrase “you don’t belong” directed at a Christian?
Hinkle, our team is about inclusion. Your religion was never the problem. The problem is your intolerance and you are homophobic. You don’t belong in a sport that aims to unite and bring people together. You would never fit into our pack or what this team stands for. https://t.co/XmzKIB88UV

“Don’t you dare say our team is ‘not a welcoming place for Christians,'” Harris continued, showing further intolerance.
“You weren’t around long enough to know what this team stood for.”
Well, we know what you don’t stand for: inclusion, class, and American values.
