President Donald Trump is pushing to hold elected Democrat lawmakers accountable for the serious issues that exist in their own districts — where problems clearly must be addressed for the health and well being of those cities’ citizens, not to mention the cities’ own solvency.

While the Democrats endlessly discuss impeachment for their own political gain and keep trying to milk the Mueller hearings and report for anything anti-Trump they can possibly grab onto, the president is sternly reminding them of why they were elected in the first place: to represent the people and issues in their own state districts.

On Sunday morning, Trump called out House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for the enormous problems in her California district — including far too many homeless people living on the streets.

These issues long have been reported by many news outlets. “People are pooping more than ever on the streets of San Francisco,” said a Business Insider headline just this past April.

Trump tweeted, “Speaking of failing badly, has anyone seen what is happening to Nancy Pelosi’s district in San Francisco. It is not even recognizable lately. Something must be done before it is too late.”

“The Dems should stop wasting time on the Witch Hunt Hoax and start focusing on our country!” he added.

Democrats surely are going to fire back the first chance they get. They’ve already been firing back on Trump’s comments about Rep. Elijah Cummings for Baltimore’s woes — for example, former Vice President Joe Biden said yesterday that Cummings “is one of the finest people I’ve ever served with. It is despicable for you [the president] to attack him and the people of Baltimore this way. Once again you have proved yourself unfit to hold the office. A president is supposed to lift this nation up. Not tear it down.”

And Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) declared, “Elijah Cummings is one of my dearest friends. He is a good man through and through, and he fights for what is just in this country. To be attacked by a president issuing racist tweets is beyond insulting. It is disgusting.”

But will Democrats remember that one of their own — Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont — himself viciously called out Baltimore and its big problems just a few short years ago?

People don’t like to be reminded of their own failings — but Trump is blunt, on point, and relentless.

Democrats continue to stress in press conferences and media appearances that they have important “oversight” duties of the executive branch.

But how about oversight of their own cities?

It is undeniable that many cities and districts run by Democrat leaders have tremendous problems, including crime, filth, and inefficiency.
