Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) was closely aligned with Barack Obama during the eight years the Democrats’ savior sat in the Oval Office.

He went after Republicans, ripping and slamming them for questioning a lot of the decisions that Obama made — decisions that were not in line with America’s values.

Now, Cummings wants to lead the charge of harassment against President Donald Trump.

On Saturday morning, Trump demanded an investigation of Cummings and his Maryland district.

“Rep. Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the southern border, when his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous,” the president tweeted.

The president continued: “… As proven last week during a congressional tour, the border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cummings’ district is a disgusting, rat-, and rodent-infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place.”

“Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States?” the president also remarked. “No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!”

Someone should make a list of all the congressional lawmakers whose districts are like Cummings’ district — then calculate how much money has been given to their districts since they’ve been in office, in my view.

People should then assess the actual current conditions of these districts and post that info on full-page ads across all the cities’ billboards — as well as in newspapers and all social media.

This past Monday, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust asked the Maryland attorney general to investigate whether Cummings and his wife used a charity for improper self-enrichment.

This follows previous reports that a charity run by Maya Rockeymoore, Cummings’ wife, received millions from special-interest groups and corporations that had business before her husband’s committee.

Here is my question: Don’t you smell the corruption here?

Remember when Cummings’ daughter was using his congressional license plates to taxi people around D.C. as a Lyft driver?

Cummings said he would switch the car plates.

Is that how it works in the swamp? People just slap a license on any car they decide to drive that day?

As a lifelong resident of Maryland, I agree with you, President Trump. Cummings is one of many Dems who have been in Congress too long and have done little or nothing for their districts — or about our immigration system for over 30 years.

They are partisan hacks, in my view. Cummings has been a joke; and his buddy, Gov. Martin O’Malley, helped him by gerrymandering our once-conservative district to keep him in office.

Please clean up your own mess, Rep. Cummings.

Maryland has been under Democrat control for decades (House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California was also born and raised here).

As of Saturday morning, there have been 190 shooting deaths and 414 non-fatal shootings in the city of Baltimore in 2019.

Please clean up your own mess, Rep. Cummings.
