President Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign declared victory on Tuesday night following this week’s first round of Democratic primary debates.

The second one occurs tonight.

The debate on Tuesday night among 10 Democratic contenders was hosted by and shown on CNN.

It featured three moderators, all CNN employees — Jake Tapper, Dana Bash, and Don Lemon — who labored to keep the candidates within the debate rules.

Many viewers, pundits and others found the format both disruptive and unproductive, as candidates such as Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) repeatedly went over her time allotted or otherwise tried to flout the rules in order to get in more words (and more barbs).

The evening showcased the increasingly apparent divide between moderates in the Democratic Party — and those on the far-Left, namely Warren and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).

Sanders relentlessly pushed his Medicare for All plan, familiar to anyone who’s followed his stump speeches and his performance in the first debate — while Warren seemed to go further Left as well.

“Same radical Democrats,” read the statement from Trump’s campaign, as Fox News pointed out.

“Same big government socialist message. Same winner of tonight’s debate: President Donald Trump.”

Virtually none of them acknowledged or mentioned Trump’s accomplishments for America.

Trump himself did not tweet during the debate on Tuesday night — though in the faceoff roughly a month ago, he announced on Twitter that the Democratic proceedings were “boring!”

By all accounts, there was no decisive Democratic winner of Tuesday night’s debate.

Author and new-age candidate Marianne Williamson became the evening’s most “googled” individual, after her comment that “dark psychic forces” — which she suggested Trump is responsible for, in one way or another — are ripping the nation apart along racial lines.

As Dan Gainor of the Media Research Center wrote in an opinion piece for Fox News, “Williamson’s most memorable line of the night talked about the failure of ‘this wonkiness’ to combat ‘this dark psychic force of the collectivized hatred that this president is bringing up in this country.’ While the comment was mocked by some on Twitter, it also resonated.”

Gainor also said her debate strategy was “to push for ‘radical truth-telling.’ This included a call for up to $500 billion in reparations for African-Americans and some tough talk about the Flint, Michigan, water crisis that won her loud support in the Detroit audience.”

He noted that comedian Sarah Silverman “summed up a lot of the positive and negative comments at once, noting of Williamson, ‘She may be granola whacky but she’s right.'”

Yet as Herman Cain noted on Twitter, “You know Dems are in trouble when folks like David Axelrod and the panel at MSNBC stop trying to spin the numbers.”
