Unlike most of the 2020 Democratic candidates, former Vice President Joe Biden hasn’t endorsed a single-payer Medicare for All  health care system, which Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) has popularized.

But what Biden’s health plan would do is make Roe v. Wade federal law — and force Americans to fund abortions through taxpayer dollars.

This is just as radical as what the rest of the Democratic presidential candidates are proposing.

For starters, the language in Biden’s plan promises to “protect the constitutional right to an abortion” in addition to expanded birth control access.

Under Biden’s proposal, Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate would continue with “free preventive care, including contraception.”

Biden says his plan will “build on that progress” by “repealing the Hyde Amendment because health care is a right that should not be dependent on one’s zip code or income.”

“And, the public option will cover contraception and a woman’s constitutional right to choose,” the Biden proposal states.

The former vice president also vows to reverse “the Trump administration and states’ all-out assault on women’s right to choose.”

Biden’s intention to make Roe v. Wade federal law would take abortion regulation completely out of states’ hands, including current state laws that pertain to “parental notification requirements, mandatory waiting periods, and ultrasound requirements.”

Biden also says he will “restore federal funding for Planned Parenthood.”

“As president, Biden will reissue guidance specifying that states cannot refuse Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood and other providers that refer for abortions or provide related information and reverse the Trump administration’s rule preventing Planned Parenthood and certain other family planning programs from obtaining Title X funds,” his campaign states.

On top of all this — Biden still expects Americans to believe that he is “personally” pro-life.

What progress President Trump has made in saving unborn lives, Biden intends to undo. No doubt this is the plan of every Democratic 2020 candidate — but Biden is trying to portray himself as more moderate. He’s not.

That abortion is a tragic plague that haunts our country is bad enough, but asking Americans morally opposed to taking unborn lives to foot the bill is unconscionable, in our view.

Not that this would bother Biden.
