Former special counsel Robert Mueller testified before the House on Wednesday, demonstrating a loose knowledge of his own report — and causing even further headaches for the resistance party.

Mueller himself warned that his testimony would consist solely of his already public 448-page report and that he would “not provide information beyond that which is already public in any appearance before Congress.”

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel called the hearing “political theater.”

Just like that, both Mueller’s prediction and McDaniel’s assessment came to fruition.

Perhaps Fox News’ Chris Wallace described it best when he labeled the charade “a disaster for the Democrats” and a devastating blow to Mueller’s own reputation.

“This has been a disaster for the Democrats and I think it’s been a disaster for the reputation of Robert Mueller,” Wallace explained.

“He has seemed very uncertain with his brief. He doesn’t know — seem to know things that are in the report,” he continued. “He has been attacked a number of times and you would think that almost anybody else would have defended his own integrity and the integrity of the investigation and over and over, Mueller just sits silent and allows the attacks from the Republicans to sweep over him and says nothing.”

Amy Walter, national editor for the Cook Political Report, said the disaster unfolded almost immediately after Mueller’s testimony began.

“We are only 30 mins into this thing but I don’t think that this is going the way Democrats were hoping it would,” she relayed on Twitter.

Wallace’s colleague at Fox, Bret Baier, concurred that the dramatic elements the Left drew up in their imaginations prior to the congressional hearing dissipated quickly — and will leave many disappointed.

“It was halting and slow and painful,” Baier said, capturing the opposition party in a nutshell, in our view.

“If Democrats wanted this to be about the movie, it was sometimes not a great narrative to watch.”

Skeptical that a couple of Fox News analysts might have a bias towards the proceedings? Enter former chief strategist for Barack Obama, David Axelrod, who also suggested Mueller’s testimony had become “painful.”

With that said, let’s examine why Mueller’s testimony is a disaster for the Democrats.

Mueller reiterated that the evidence from his extensive investigation “did not establish” conspiracy with Russia by the Trump campaign.

He also testified that his investigation was never curtailed, stopped, or hindered at any time.

In fact, Mueller even shut down Democrat Hakeem Jeffries’ allegation of obstruction by responding, “I’m not supportive of that analytical charge.”

It’s clear from Mueller’s own report that there was no collusion and no obstruction. It is why he, after years of investigating, did not take any legal moves against the president.

Not only are Democrats engaged in trying to create a crime out of nothing as a means to take down the president, but they are choosing to focus on a topic that voters don’t care about.

Let them keep focusing on the Russian collusion hoax. They will continue to have zero legislative victories on their resume heading into the next election — wrapped up in delusions of impeachment rather than working for the American people.

It has to be infuriating for the Left to keep thinking Mueller’s investigation or testimony are going to stop the president from serving this country — only to find out it’s actually helping his re-election bid in 2020.
